Recommended RV drives in Argentina
Seven Lakes Road:

This mostly asphalted route travels from Bariloche to San Martin de Los Andes. The route passes pictorial lakes that include Huapi, Correntoso and Traful, and Lanin and Nahuel Huapi national parks. RV drivers can camp on the banks of the River Pichi Traful and at Correntoso.

Iguacu Falls:

One of South America’s most famous tourism sites, located on the northeastern border. Although the falls are far from Buenos Aires, campsites at San Antonio de Areco and Puerto Iguacu provide drivers with the opportunity to break up their journeys.

Salta to Cafayate:

Route 68 runs through wonderful rock formations, mountain peaks, red-tinged terrain and charming villages. Ranchers rounding up livestock on horseback is a common sight here. Salta and Cafayate both have camp grounds.

Driving Road Tips
Road network:

Argentina has an adequate, mostly surfaced road network that gives access to most destinations. Petrol stations are scarce in the more out-of-the-way places and motorists should try to keep their tanks full.

Speed limits:

Urban roads: 40kph on smaller roads, 60kph on main highways
Provincial roads: 100kph
National roads and motorways: 130kph

Alcohol limits:

0.5 per cent. Police run occasional checks.

Safety:

Driving is on the right-hand side. City roads are okay, but cross-country routes are narrow and drivers need to take care. Argentinean drivers do not always obey stop signs. Using a mobile phone while driving is illegal.

Cost of fuel:

less costly than in northern Europe or the UK.
