Campervan Hire in Helsinki ‘Daughter of the Baltic’
campervan hire Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki, known as the ‘Daughter of the Baltic’, is an internationally-famous metropolis. It offers a cosy small-town atmosphere and proximity to vast outdoor areas perfect for exploring with a motorhome rental in Helsinki. Sites for camping vans are easy to find in the suburbs, away from the city centre.

As accommodation and parking in Helsinki can be expensive, renting a mobile home and staying at a campsite is a good idea. This will place you close to the city centre and the main highways that lead elsewhere around the country.

We at RVRentaCampervan have been booking camping van holidays in Helsinki for many years. Over that time we have built up a wealth of knowledge, that knowledge and experience will be used to provide you with an impeccable service. Book today and become another satisfied customer.

After hiring your Motorhome start planning your routes

Kaivopuisto:

Beautifully overlooking the sea and located in the southernmost reaches of the city. While taking in the background scenery, you can enjoy views of sailboats and happy Finns and tourists gathering on the promenade. The nearest camping car sites are Suomen Leirintaalueyhdistys and Helsingin Paarautatieasema.

Nuuksio National Park:

An unrivalled and untamed area of wilderness that is just 25kms from the city centre. Those that visit and wish to stay out of the metropolitan area usually stay at one of the park’s four designated camping grounds or in Espoo.

Southern Finland:

Fine and scenic coastlines run all the way to the border with Russia. Camper sites for motorhomes are found at Nallikari Camping and Lakeistonrannan Leirinta.

Road network:

Helsinki’s roads are well planned, with great links to motorways and national roads. Some areas of southern Finland, however, aren’t accessible by camping van rental. Petrol stations are easier to find in Helsinki than other parts of Finland.

Speed limits:

Urban roads:50kph unless specified
Provincial roads:80-100kph
National roads and motorways:120kph

Alcohol limits:

0.08 per cent, with heavy fines for offenders

Safety:

Traffic travels on the road’s right-hand side. The AA can reach any part of Helsinki in a hurry but if you are out of the metropolitan area, recovery times increase. Never use a mobile phone while at the wheel in Helsinki.
