First airport campervan park opens at Auckland International Airport
After a long haul flight, most campers book into a local hotel to rest and relax. To cater to this requirement in the “self-drive” holiday market, Auckland airport authorities have opened a motorhome site just minutes from the airport, the site has full campervan facilities.
Auckland Airport are the first to provide a well-appointed camper site close by to the airport that can be used to rest and prepare for your tour of New Zealand, it is also possible to spend the last night at the park making the rental return less stressful. We hope other airports popular with self drive motorhome tourists will follow.
“We opened the new facility to allow greater choice for campervan travellers, offering an easy, affordable and hassle-free service with all the amenities you would expect from a modern facility,” say Auckland Airport Commercial Manager, Transport, Martyn Brewer.
The Campervan Park is just a few minutes drive from the Domestic and International Terminals. The park offers 54 powered bays with fresh water, toilets, showers, kitchen and laundry facilities as well as Wi-Fi. The park is set within landscaped gardens and has loads to keep everyone entertained with paintball, a butterfly sanctuary, mini golf, shopping, a high ropes course and a driving range.
