Driving Tips
Road network:

In a city with such a high population, traffic is often a problem in central Berlin. The amount of efficient autobahns means that getting out of the city or to the suburbs is easy, however, with petrol stations plentiful.

Speed limits:

Urban roads:50kph unless specified
Provincial roads:100kph
National roads and motorways:no limit unless specified

Alcohol limits:

0.5 per cent. Berlin roads have a heavy police presence and drink-driving isn’t advised due to the hefty fines given out to offenders.

Safety:

Driving around Berlin is done on the right of the road. A lot of the city is accessible by camping van and accident recovery groups in Berlin reach vehicles easily. Never drive and talk on your mobile phone at the same time in the German capital.

Cost of fuel:

You need to take into account fuel costs when planning your touring holiday because in Germany like most of Europe it is expensive so please plan accordingly.
