Compare Motorhome Rental Cologne
Set on the River Rhine in northern Germany, Cologne is a popular tourism destination for its rich heritage, picturesque Old City, traditional Bohemian neighbourhoods and beer halls. Its international airport processes almost 10 million passengers a year, and is a hub for low-cost German Wings as well as Lufthansa full-service routes.
The rural regions of North Rhine-Westphalia state, with their small towns and villages lie along the Belgian and Dutch borders, and make for interesting and historic tours by rental motorhome. The excellent German autobahn system makes exploring the countryside away from the major conurbations a real pleasure.
RVRentacampervan has been excellent in providing good clear comparisions of all the options available for our touring holiday in Italy, we decided on the 4 berth Sky 20 campervan which worked out perfect and again the service from Star Drive was outstanding. Thank you Jeff & Sally |

Campervan Rental Cologne Road Trips
Cologne to Konigswinter:
The beauties of the Rhine Valley, with its forested slopes, quaint villages and historic castles, form this scenic A59 autobahn route from the Rhineside Camping Berger site in Cologne. It’s a short drive, taking around an hour at most, and the Am Schwimmbad caravan site makes for a great base for exploring the valley.
Cologne to the Ruhr:
Just 100kms from Cologne is the Ruhr, the former industrial heartland of Germany with its Industrial Heritage Trail. Cities include Essen with its UNESCO-listed site, Krupp family palace and Ruhrcamping Bauer campingvan site. Campingplatz Kampmeier lies at the border of the region, close to Iserlohn.
Cologne-Frankfurt-Nuremberg-Munich:
From Cologne to Munich on the A3 and A9 autobahns takes around five hours, but it is best to take a day each to explore Frankfurt and Nuremburg before arriving in Munich. Citycamp Frankfurt is the only site here but there’s a choice of RV sites around Nuremberg, including the Knaus Campingpark.
