Frankfurt Campervan Hire

Mainz:

Among the shortest drives out of the city at just 45 minutes, but a world away from the hustle and bustle of Frankfurt once you arrive in this historical town with a history stretching as far back as the Roman era. With your motorhome hire, stay at Camping Loreleyblick or Eura Mobil GmbH. A city dating back to 38 BC will have an enormous amount of history and beautiful architecture, which puts Mainz on the map as one of Germany’s most incredible places to visit.

Every area of this little town is full of historical significance and should be seen in a generous manner. See one of Germany’s oldest Romanesque cathedral, Dom St. Martin. An off the path and random place that is astounding is Museum für Antike Schifffahrt, known for the remains of Roman warships from the fifth century. What ever you are interested in when it comes to your journey through Frankfurt, you will find in the beautiful historical town of Mainz.

Heidelberg:

On your way into Heidelberg, enjoy views of the Odenwald mountain range, the Forest of Odes and the Rhine Valley’s plains. After completing the drive, stop at camper sites in Heidelberg or Sprendlingen. Heidelberg is an often overlooked tourist destination in Germany that many don’t feel will offer anything amazing, yet they are very wrong.

This town to start has the oldest university in Germany, 1386, known as Ruprecht-Karls-Universität. With the bombings of world war two, Heidelberg was spared hence the reason it being in such incredible importance for tourists. See Heiliggeistkirche Church, with one of the oldest libraries in Germany. Don’t forget to see Forest of Odes, famous for its history reaching back before 400BC. The amount of history in this forest alone is enough to warrant the trip itself!

Bad Homburg vor de Hohe:

he views of Landgrave Castle and the Roman Fort, within a UNESCO World Heritage site, make for a great drive from the city centre, with motorhome accommodation in Hambach and Kaiserslautern. See the mineral springs at Kurpark in the center of the city, where many people walk around and enjoy one of the many amenities this area has to offer. For those that love to walk around and enjoy scenery, there is also Schlosspark near Landgrave castle that is famous for picture taking and scenic views. However, for those that like to bicycle, head over to Kaiser-Wilhelm-Jubiläumspark. Luckily, this little town is just outside of Frankfurt and easy to reach for a day trip and feels like it’s not anywhere near Frankfurt.
