Campervan and Motorhome Hire Belfast
Belfast is one of the main starting points for a campervan hire holiday in Northern Ireland. It is served by both Aldergrove the international airport and Belfast Airport. The North of Ireland like most of Ireland is car and motorhome friendly in that traffic is very light making sightseeing easy.
The big question we get is can we travel into the South of Ireland. The answer is yes, but make sure you mention the fact either at pickup or when booking. Some customers actually choose a one way, picking up in Belfast and return to a depot in the South, Dublin airport as an example.

Ireland is not big, so it is possible to see a lot in a short time. NI has some key attraction tourist attractions, such as the Giant's Causeway, but the South has more to offer. So most make it a 2 part holiday with time spent in campervaning in NI and the republic. The south tends to be more expensive, so stock before leaving the North. No customs exist, so it is a true open border, and we hope remains so even with the Brexit.
Campervan Hire Belfast Driving Tips
Because the roads are so uncongested, driving in the north and south is easy, and you will not lose time in traffic jams. However, the two cities Dublin and Belfast can be a little congested during peak hours when people are driving to and return from work. Dublin is by far the worst and should be avoided if driving a campervan. Like the UK, signage and roads are all first class. When driving in the countryside, you will find some of the roads narrow and bendy. Always drive within the limits posted and always keep your distance as these smaller country roads can be dangerous if you do not respect the road rules and stay alert.
