this drive takes you from Gdansk east to Kolobzreg, where you can rest at Camping Nr 67 Przy Plazy while getting pampered at one of Sopot’s fantastic spas, or gaze across the Baltic Sea from Leba while staying the night in Campsite Ambre Nr 41. Finish the trip at the best beaches around Kolobzreg.

Cultural tour:

this may be Poland’s most popular drive, starting in the capital city of Warsaw and driving south to the cultural capital of Krakow, while taking a side trip to Auschwitz. There are many motorhome sites en route, such as Camping Galicja and Campsite Smok Kat 1.

Greater Poland:

this is one of the most beautiful drives, exploring the lakes, visiting the castles and witnessing the large salt mines of Poland. While on this driving tour, stay overnight at Campsite Malta Nr 155 or Campsite U Koziolka.

Road network:

a great road network serves the country, although some routes are in poor condition. There are plenty of petrol stations on all major routes.

Speed limits:

Urban roads: 50kph in the daytime, 60kph from 23:00 to 05:00
Provincial roads: 90kph
National roads and motorways: 100 to 140kph

Alcohol limits:

0.05 per cent; regular police spot checks; jail time for offenders.

Safety:

driving is on the right, with major routes in good condition, although locals drive quite recklessly so take extra caution. Overtaking is illegal, and vehicles must have dipped lights on at all times.

Cost of fuel:

slightly less costly than in the UK.
