Malaga is at the heart of southern Spain’s Costa del Sol. It is the perfect base for travelling around this inimitable part of the world. Regional roads are great, there are scores of campsites and the selection of holiday motorhomes available for hire is wide.
We booked with Euromotorhome Rental the price seemed fair and they were close to the airport , its on the same road to Barcelona city (Road number C-31 orange colour). The campervan was great very new and we had no problems with the RV. This time we decided to buy our own linen from the local Ikea.

The mild Malaga climate has been a major factor in influencing holidaymakers to choose the city for their vacations over the last 100 years. It is still as popular as ever, and self-drive is the most convenient way of reaching regional Mediterranean beaches as well as Granada, Cordova and Seville.
Ideas for Camper rental holiday drives in Malaga
Gibraltar and Cadiz:
the Autopista del Mediterraneo is the primary route west for Gibraltar. Beaches such as those at Fuengirola and Marbella dot the route. There are motorhome parks near both locations as well as at Mijas. From Gibraltar, it is a short drive to Cadiz.
North to Cordova:
the A45 is a direct road to Cordova. Antequera is en route and is close to Bronze Age dolmens and the El Torcal nature reserve. The Roman Mausoleum, the Great Mosque and Calahorra Tower are among Cordova’s main draws. Motorhome sites at Alameda and La Carlota provide good bases to enjoy the area’s sights.
Almeria and Cartagena:
eastwards along the Mediterranean shores, golden beaches such as Almunecar and Almeria Citadel, and the charms of Cartagena attract holidaymakers. Nerja, Almunecar and Carchuna all have campsites that offer services for motorhome users.

Are the RVs supplied with a full fuel tank, and how should I return them?
The fuel policy will vary slightly from supplier to supplier, in general you should return the campervan with the same amount of fuel as when you picked up the vehicle. As the rule varies, ask for guidance when picking up your Malaga Campervan rental.
What licence do I need to drive a campervan?
For all campervans under 3,500 Kilograms maximum authorised mass (MAM), a standard EU licence is acceptable. If you do not hold an EU licence, you may need an international driving permit in addition to your original licence from your country of domicile. Please check the supplier's terms and conditions to ensure you have the necessary documentation.
