Portage Valley:

This route leads to the popular Portage Glacier attraction and if you drive to Whittier, you can see marine wonders. Portage Valley is an hour’s drive away, and if you continue farther, the trip can take half a day. Camper sites are available in Anchorage or Portage Valley.

Anchorage to Matanuska Valley:

Drive in a north easterly direction along Glenn Highway. Attractions include Eklutna Lake and camper sites can be found in Palmer or Eagle River.

Seward Highway:

This road, also known as Highway 1, provides access to Girdwood and the Kenai Peninsula. Camper sites offer electricity, showers and parking spaces in Sterling and Homer.
